(in)Tangible Boundaries – A History of Raleigh through Maps

This exhibition in the front gallery of the City of Raleigh Museum will showcase student maps from an ongoing course at NC State’s College of Design entitled DIY Cartography. Through the course, students create maps focused on the history of Raleigh’s urban development in order to better understand how, why and where development has been concentrated and the effects that same development has had socially, politically and economically. Visitors will be able to contribute to this installation by creating their own personal and historical maps that might tell about the past, or imagine a different future.
